This recipe was from Half Baked Harvest, and since I was assistant only, I see now as I read the recipe for the first time that we missed a few of the optional ingredients, for convenience and expense. Ha. Strikethrough the crushed red pepper flakes, fresh chives, blackberries, and (for drizzling at the end) balsamic vinegar and honey. 😖 Turned out pretty good even without them.
Here's what we DID do:
Rolled out 1/2 pound pizza dough, and spread olive oil over it (leaving 1 inch border).
Sprinkled grated garlic and basil leaves over it, then topped with the three cheeses--blue, mozzarella, and parmesan.
We then layered sliced nectarines on top, drizzled with olive oil, and seasoned with salt and pepper, and baked it about 12 minutes at 450.
I thought it was really interesting, with the unusual flavor of the blue cheese, plus nectarine. Not exactly comfort food because of the unusual flavor, but it definitely felt like a dietary splurge with the heavy cheese and store-bought (do people say that anymore?!) dough. I'd have it again, and Toria agreed with my score of 8/10. Probably not the sort of thing I would go to the trouble of making if in the mood for cheesy pizza, unless I were having a friend over--in which case it would probably be a great choice--relatively quick assembly, tasty, and interesting.
